Huawei Celebrates Vogue China’s 10th Anniversary with Feast of Fashion and Technology

Shanghai, October 28, 2015: Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) toasted Vogue China’s 10th anniversary with a star-studded party at the Shanghai Expo Centre on October 27. The event, which came on the heels of Vogue China’s 10th anniversary party in Milan on September 28, was attended by Huawei and Vogue China executives. Guests included Mr. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG; Mr. Kevin He, President of Handset Product Line, Huawei Consumer BG; Ms. Glory Zhang, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Consumer BG; and Ms. Angelica Cheung, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue China. The party was also attended American models Ms. Karlie Kloss and Mr. Sean O’Pry, who together with several film stars from China celebrated the spectacular occasion, which brought together high fashion and innovative technology.

Rose Gold Huawei Mate S Charms the Crowd

With its stunning design and groundbreaking technology, the Huawei Mate S has earned high praise among members of the media and consumers since its launch at IFA Berlin in September. The device, which clearly demonstrates how Huawei effectively embraces the worlds of fashion and technology, is the latest manifestation of Huawei’s aim to offer luxurious and innovative products.

A coterie of female celebrities and supermodels in attendance at the Shanghai party, including renowned actress Ms. Li Bingbing and supermodel Ms. Karlie Kloss, were charmed by the rose gold Huawei Mate S and took multiple selfies with the product.

Featuring a sophisticated, sleek metallic body and a curved back cover inspired by the design of traditional Chinese arch bridges, the Huawei Mate S offers the perfect combination of simplicity and elegance. The device’s revolutionary touch technology meanwhile redefines how users can act with smartphones and has helped usher in a new era of human–machine interaction.

Huawei conducted over 1,000 color-matching trials and also took into account the latest luxury product trends when creating the refined and extravagant rose gold-color Huawei Mate S.

Also part of its research efforts, Huawei assessed various facets of consumer needs and desires, allowing the brand to take the uni-body design concept to the next level In addition to creating a smartphone that is entirely rose gold in color – from its antenna to the exterior case and even its camera – Huawei’s designers and engineers also applied used sandblasting technology to create a unique finish for product, which has an exceptionally great feel.

Huawei Watch Special Edition Shines in Shanghai

Given as exclusive gifts to guests of Vogue China’s 10th anniversary party in Shanghai, the special edition of the Huawei Watch actually made its debut appearance earlier at Vogue China’s 10th anniversary party in Milan. Styled by renowned Italian designer Mr. Barnaba Fornasetti, the Huawei Watch is a collaboration between Huawei, Vogue China, and Mr. Fornasetti. The exclusive Fornasetti design of its face includes the iconic Fornasetti “Tema e Variazioni” motif, with the watch strap and accompanying box both designed using the classic green malachite pattern typical of Fornasetti’s designs. Barnaba Fornasetti said, “This premium watch combines a timeless aesthetic design with smart technology embedded within.”

Huawei’s and Vogue China’s cooperation came to an end at the Shanghai celebration. But for Huawei, the quest to connect technology and fashion has only just begun.
