How to claim your Free Screen Replacement?

Return your smartphone to the place of purchase together with your proof of purchase. The retailer will send your broken screen to Huawei repair center for repair and we will replace your broken screen for free.
Claimants should allow 8 to 10 working days for the repair to be completed, but acknowledge that repairs could take longer than 10 days to be completed.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - FREE SCREEN REPLACEMENT PROMOTION

Promotion for and behalf of HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES NEW ZEALAND CO. LTD (HUAWEI NZ) TERMS AND CONDITIONS hereby referred to Huawei.

The Promotion provides eligible participants with up to three (3) month cover for accidental external screen breakage after purchase of eligible smartphones as follow:
  • Huawei P10 Plus
  • Huawei P10
The Promotion provides eligible participants with up to twelve (12) month cover for accidental external screen breakage after purchase of eligible smartphones as follow:
  • Huawei P9
  • Huawei P9 Plus
  • Huawei P9lite
  • Huawei P8
  • Huawei Mate 9 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 9
  • Huawei Mate S
  • Huawei Mate 8
  • Huawei G8

The cover period is three (3) month for P10 and P10 Plus from the date of purchase. In the event of a cracked or broken screen, Huawei - in its absolute discretion - repair or replace the screen at no cost to the participant. Only one claim shall be permitted per product during the eligible period. Claims only applies to eligible smartphone purchases in New Zealand with repairs conducted within New Zealand.

The cover period is Twelve (12) month for P9 , P9 plus, P9lite, P8, Mate9 Pro, Mate9, Mate S, Mate8, G8 from the date of purchase. In the event of a cracked or broken screen, Huawei - in its absolute discretion - repair or replace the screen at no cost to the participant. Only one claim shall be permitted per product during the eligible period. Claims only applies to eligible smartphone purchases in New Zealand with repairs conducted within New Zealand.


WHAT THE PROMOTION DOES NOT COVER:

  • Use of the Product other than for its ordinary and generally accepted purposes, including deliberate damage to product
  • Products where the serial number and/or product identification numbers has been removed or made illegible
  • Internal damage to smartphone product such as the internal hardware and software that is not damage to the screen
  • External damage to the smartphone product that is not damage to the screen
  • Water or liquid damage affecting the overall performance of the phone
  • Damage or defects caused by use of or in connection with software, hardware and or services not manufactured, supplied or authorised by the Promoter
  • Unauthorised maintenance, repair, disassembly, alteration or modification
  • Use of the product in conjunction with any device, accessory or software not approved by the Promoter or any telecommuni cations network
  • Handling, storage, installation and operation of the product contrary to the instructions, specifications and environmental requirements (including power supply) advised by the Promoter
  • Software viruses, fire or acts of God
  • Parallel imported goods including those not purchased from participating authorised New Zealand retailers
  • Delivery costs from and to an authorised retailer for service commencement

PROMOTIONAL PERIOD

1. The Promotion commences at 9.00am NZST on 02/04/2017 and closes at 11.59pm NZST on 31/12/2019 ("Purchase Period"). Huawei reserves the right to change the purchase period without notice.

2. Instructions on how to claim form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Claims are only open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years and over. Claimants under 18 years old must have a parent's / guardian's permission to make a claim. Huawei may require the parent or guardian to sign these Terms and Conditions as a condition of entry.

4. No registrations is required for the promotion but a valid proof of purchase, receipt or invoice, showing the date of purchase of the eligible product is required for the promotion to be honoured.

5. The right to make a claim under this promotion is not transferrable or exchangeable and applies to the original purchaser only.


PARTICIPATING PRODUCTS

To be eligible to claim, individuals must purchase (lay-by, duty- free and wholesale purchases excluded) any eligible product (defined below) from a participating Huawei New Zealand authorised dealer during the purchase period and while stocks last.

Parallel imported goods including those not purchased in New Zealand are not eligible.

HOW TO MAKE A REPAIR CLAIM:

Claimants must do the following in order to make a repair claim:
1. Return their eligible product to the authorised dealer point of purchase.
2. Request a warranty repair to be completed.
3. Alternatively call the Huawei customer care hotline on 0800HUAWEI (0800 482934)

Claimants should allow 8 to 10 working days for the repair to be completed, but acknowledge that repairs could take longer than 10 days to be completed.


GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Huawei reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of claims and claimant's (including a claimant's identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who Huawei has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the claim process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Promotion.

2. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Huawei’s discretion. Failure by the Huawei to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

3. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Huawei, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, Huawei reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any claimant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.

4. Huawei, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Promotion or any part of the promotion if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Huawei’s reasonable control adversely affects Huawei’s ability to conduct the promotion or part of the promotion as contemplated in these terms and conditions, subject to any written directions from any regulatory authority. Any cancellation or modification to the promotion will be notified on the Promoter's website: consumer.huawei.com/nz or www.huaweiscreenpromise.co.nz

5. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify any consumer product warranties already provided by the Promoter, any statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Consumer Guarantees Act and any other implied warranties under any similar consumer protection laws in New Zealand.

6. To the extent permitted by law, Huawei is not liable for any loss, corruption or destruction of data stored by a repair claimant on the Eligible Products, loss or damage to third party hardware or software or for any special, indirect or consequential loss or damage.

7. Huawei will not be liable for any products damaged or lost in transit in the event that a claimant is unable to take the product to an authorised dealer personally and is required to deliver the product to Huawei via post or courier. Huawei will not be liable for any postal or delivery charges.

8. Huawei collects personal information ("PI") in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors and service providers. Making a repair claim is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at http://consumer.huawei.com/en/privacy-policy/index.htm.

9. If a product is deemed unrepairable or if parts are no longer available Huawei may in its absolute discretion replace the product with another product of equal or greater value.
