HUAWEI celebrates 1 million shipments in Italy
Milan, November 20, 2014: HUAWEI, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, celebrates 1 million shipments in Italy and, at the achievement of this important milestone, announces the launch of the premium version of its latest flagship smartphone HUAWEI Ascend Mate 7.
In the wake of the extraordinary results achieved globally in 2014, HUAWEI Consumer Business Group records one million smartphones shipped in Italy confirming the rapid and relevant growth of HUAWEI Consumer division in the country; the result of its well-established presence in the territory and strong relationships with both the major carriers and the many channel partners.
In Q3, the Consumer BG shipped a total of 32.03 million devices, including 16.8 million smartphones, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 26%. The percentage of mid- to high-end devices grew an impressive 162% year-on-year, comprising 26% of all total shipments. These results further demonstrate the success of the launch of recent flagship products such as HUAWEI Ascend Mate 7. Following the great success of the 6-inch display smartphone with single-touch fingerprint technology, HUAWEI Consumer BG is now introducing the Gold version of HUAWEI Ascend Mate 7 in the Italian market.
In addition to the powerful chipset super octa-core processor, the 4100 mAh battery and the EMUI 3.0 new HUAWEI proprietary interface that makes it easy to use the device with only one hand, this premium version features sleek gold-shaded body, 32 GB ROM, 3 GB RAM and double slot for one micro and one nano SIM card.
Thanks to its cutting-edge technology, HUAWEI Ascend Mate 7 was selected by D'Uva Workshop to offer to the 6 mln yearly visitors of the Pantheon in Rome and the Basilica di San Marco in Venice video guide paths and the opportunity to access media content online and offline, take photos and instantly share them on social networks.
