New Huawei Assistant delivers premium services with leading global brands Partners to power device-optimised news feed and content

Rome, 08 Nov 2018 – At its third annual Eco-Connect Europe event in Rome, Huawei unveiled Huawei Assistant, the new suite of modules designed to bring premium services to users intelligently and quickly, in collabouration with leading global brands.

Huawei Assistant is part of Huawei Mobile Services which enriches more than 460 million users’ mobile life with premium services. Available in Europe from 2019, apart from global search and exercise health info, Huawei Assistant features three main modules:

  • Instant Access: customisable shortcuts to services of installed apps
  • SmartCare: intelligent reminder services for users according to the usage scenario, initially launched with five service categories including food, travel, sport events, stock services
  • News Feeds: device-optimised news feed based on user preferences, covering local and trending news

At the event, Darren Laybourn, Corporate Vice President Microsoft News, described Microsoft’s vision to deliver trusted news from the world’s best journalists to hundreds of millions of mobile devices worldwide. “We are creating experiences that inform, entertain and empower users, through our unique curation philosophy that combines the work of human editors with powerful AI from Microsoft. Microsoft has partnerships with over 1200 premium publishers and more than 4500 brands globally, and we offer best-in-class locally relevant content in 140 countries and 28 languages.”

Huawei Assistant will feature premium content from selected industry leading partners for roll-out across the regions, showcasing how information and services providers can reach global users and provide services to them in a more efficient, direct and convenient way. The service is powered by Huawei Ability Gallery, an intelligence distribution platform which serves as the interface between users and content as well as services from partners.
