To prevent the earbuds from falling off or being lost by accidental forces, HUAWEI FreeClip provides a drop detection feature. When an earbud being worn is detected to have possibly fallen off, you can receive a prompt tone from the other earbud. This feature will be available after an OTA update. This feature is enabled by default.
Requirements for using this feature
- Earbuds' Firmware : HarmonyOS 5.0.0.216 or later.

- Version Requirements
- EMUI : Update Audio Accessory Manager to 14.0.8.377 or later
- iOS : Update AI Life app to 14.1.1.321 or later , or update HUAWEI Audio Connect App to the latest version.
- Android : Update the audio plug-in of AI Life to 14.0.8.373 or later.

How to enable or disable this feature
The drop detection feature is enabled by default. Update your earbuds to the corresponding version to experience the feature.
To disable this feature, open the AI Life App or HUAWEI Audio Connect App, access the earbuds' card, and go to .
Feature description
If an earbud being worn is detected to have fallen off and been hit, you can receive both a prompt tone from the other earbud and a notification on your phone's Notification Panel.
a) The prompt tone: The other earbud still being worn will play a "ding" tone.
b) The notification: When an earbud is detected to have possibly fallen off, Audio Accessory Manager will push a drop-off notification to your phone.
- You may not receive the prompt tone when you are wearing only one earbud and the earbud has fallen off.
- Currently, the notification pushing is supported only on HUAWEI phones. Update Audio Accessory Manager to 14.0.8.377 or later, open the app, and enable the push permission.

The feature is only an auxiliary reminder to inform you that your earbud may have fallen off. It is prone to failure on occasion. Remember to keep track of the earbuds on your own as well.
