Our commitment to you
At Huawei, we always put our consumers first, regardless of the challenges we face.
All Huawei smartphone and tablets pre-installed with Google Services and apps will continue to receive software and security updates.
Anyone who has already bought, or is about to buy a Huawei smartphone, can continue to access the world of apps as they always have done.
Our most popular devices, including the HUAWEI P30 Series, are operating on Android 10 with support of the Google Play Store.
A few of our newer devices, such as the HUAWEI P40 Series, Mate 30 Pro, Mate Xs and MatePad Pro, run on EMUI 10 or EMUI 10.1 with support of HUAWEI AppGallery. Customers can still access thousands of apps via HUAWEI AppGallery, the app store of the future. If your query relates to one of these devices click here
Regardless which Huawei device you purchase, all devices continue to be covered by our manufacturer’s warranty and will receive full service support accordingly.
We fully appreciate that you may have additional questions. You can find answers to the most common points of confusion below.
Ongoing security and software updates will continue to be provided to keep Huawei smartphones and tablets secure and up-to-date.
All devices running on Google Mobile Services, including the Google Play Store, will operate as usual. All devices running on Huawei Mobile Services will require apps to be downloaded via the Huawei AppGallery.
Huawei Mobile Services is Huawei's proprietary software platform that offers an alternative to many features of Google Mobile Services. In April 2018, HUAWEI launched Huawei AppGallery, an open gateway to access the world of apps, curated for quality and built with security and privacy in mind. We also offer our Phone Clone service which can take your apps safely and quickly from your old phone onto your new Huawei device, and customers are also able to download the apps they want direct from the app providers, via APK downloads.
For all Huawei smartphones and tablets running with Google Services, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and used as normal. For the HUAWEI Mate 30 Series, HUAWEI Mate X and newly launched HUAWEI P40 Series, users can still access many of their favourite apps including Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram via AppGallery, Phone Clone or the app providers’ websites.
Huawei Music and Huawei Video will be available to all existing Huawei smartphones and Huawei tablets running EMUI 4 and above. In fact, from March 26th 2020, new subscribers to Huawei Music will be offered 3 months free of charge. Offer ends on 26th April.
(Huawei Video will launch in Ireland this Summer)
If you reset your Huawei smartphone or tablet to factory settings, there will be no change to the software experience after the reset.
Nothing has changed. Huawei provides after-sales service as before, in accordance with the existing warranty policy. Please see here for our latest warranty policy.
For smartphone operating systems, the open Android operating system and the ecosystem around it are still our first choice. Huawei will continue to bring new innovations to consumers and build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.
We can confirm that Huawei devices with Microsoft software will be upgraded and supported.
All Huawei Wearable products currently on the market won't be affected.
HUAWEI Mate 30 Series and HUAWEI P40 Pro run on Android, through the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). These devices are also pre-installed with HUAWEI EMUI10 or 10.1, and offer Huawei Mobile Services to provide direct access to apps and content such as Music and Video.
Here is the list of the products that are running on Android 10:
Our undivided focus is on the health and safety of our employees and customers and in ensuring we do what we can to keep people around the world connected. To protect our customers, we have closed all of our stores and service centres across Europe and our European workforce has also moved to remote working.
We know how important the role of technology is at this time, and so we continue to work to keep our customers connected. As a first step, we’re extending to June 15th any warranties that end between March 15th and June 14th to provide some reassurance that you will always be able to use your devices to stay in touch with your friends, family and workplace during this time.
We will also launch new service offerings including ‘contact-less’ door to door service. Your tablet, laptop, smartphone, router, modem or smartwatch will be collected and taken to a service centre for repair and then returned completely free of delivery charges and testing fees. We have also launched a delivery service for devices already in our service centres for repair. Full details and country availability can be found on our website.
We’ve recently announced we will be launching Huawei Music across Europe. Huawei Music has a catalogue of over 50M songs and will be made free for 3 months for all of our customers who subscribe between launch and 26th April.
