Due to organizational changes within the Huawei group, several Huawei mobile services (including Cloud, Themes, ScreenMagazine and AppAdvisor) will be transferred on 30 April 2019 from Huawei Device Co., Ltd to Aspiegel Limited, a subsidiary 100% owned by Huawei and incorporated and based in Ireland. This change applies to the following regions:  Asia (excluding China Mainland, Japan, and Korea), Oceania, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

1. What is this change and how does it impact your rights under the user agreements you have?

Huawei wishes to introduce innovative digital content services and significantly expand the products and services available to our customers. We work on the expansion of our services with a dedicated, expert team from a specially established and designated Huawei company (Aspiegel Limited, based in Ireland) to better meet the needs of our customers. This change is part of our commitment to provide you with the best possible services and launch exciting new ones. We have therefore restructured some of our operations and are now running the global business operations and development for all Huawei mobile services from our mobile services hub in Ireland.

From now on, Aspiegel Limited will take over all legal responsibilities and obligations for our relationship with you, from Huawei Device Co., Ltd. In particular, Aspiegel Limited is responsible for protecting your personal data.

This change only affects the Cloud, Themes, ScreenMagazine, and AppAdvisor mobile services. It will not affect the way you use our services. In general, your consumer law rights and obligations are unaffected by this change. For example, it will not affect your device guarantee or warranty. If you are a Huawei consumer living in a country in any of the above named regions, your national law applies when it provides mandatory and stronger protections to you.

2. How does this change affect your data protection and privacy rights?

Your data protection and privacy rights are not impacted or reduced in any way. The personal data that you have entrusted to us will continue to be processed as it was previously, in accordance with applicable laws and will remain in our data center in Singapore.

3. Does this change require any action from you?

No, you don’t have to take any action. You can continue to use our mobile services just as before and make use of new mobile services as we make them available in the future.

However, if want to opt out of this change, you will need to delete your Huawei ID account. This is explained further below.

4. When will this change take place?

This change will happen on 30 April 2019.

5. How can you opt out of this change?

We sincerely hope you find our services enjoyable and secure. However, if you do choose to opt out of this change, you can terminate your user agreements by deleting your Huawei ID account at any time.

The following are the instructions for mobile phones:

Go to Settings > Huawei ID > log in (if you are not currently logged in) > go to Settings> Delete account.

The following are the instructions for the official website:

Go to https://hwid5.vmall.com/CAS/portal/login.html  > log in with your Huawei ID > go to Set > Delete account.

PLEASE NOTE: By opting out, your Huawei ID and Huawei Cloud information will be deleted (this will include valuable information, such as your synced and backed up photos, contacts and files on the Cloud). This means you will not be able to recover this information later, even if you create a new Huawei ID.

You will also not be able to use our mobile services until you create a new Huawei ID. However, you can use the basic functions as normal, such as making phone calls, sending SMSs, and taking photos.

If you have difficulties deleting your account (e.g. forget your account or your password), please contact us at:

https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/legal/privacy-questions/.

We will take steps to make sure you are the legitimate account owner and help you delete your account.
