The HUAWEI Film Awards is an Asia Pacific festival dedicated to celebrating work shot on any HUAWEI mobile phone, with the goal of uncovering and supporting the talents of tomorrow. The evolutionary HUAWEI phones have empowered filmmakers, expanding their scope and freedom to create breathtaking films. The winner in the “APAC Best Film” category will receive the grand prize of USD20,000. The HUAWEI Film Awards is now open for entries and you have until 25th February 2020 at 11.59pm (GMT+8) to submit your short film.

Adele Lim

Malaysian film and TV producer and screenwriter Adele Lim is best known as the co-screenwriter for the 2018 movie Crazy Rich Asians. A graduate from Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts with a degree in TV/Film in 1996, she started her Hollywood career in Xena: Warrior Princess and made her name for her writing on TV shows such as One Tree Hill, Life Unexpected, Reign, Star-Crossed, Private Practice, and Lethal Weapon. She is also a judge for the Writers Guild of America’s Writers Access Project. Most recently, Adele has been recruited by Disney to develop Raya and the Last Dragon.

Chris Humphrey

Responsible for overseeing the regional broadcast content creation for A+E Networks’ wholly-owned operation across the Asia Pacific, Singapore-based Chris Humphrey has produced and directed exclusive personal biographies of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the Sultan of Brunei, as well as Executive Produced ‘‘China’s Extreme Skywalker’, ‘Mysteries of China’, ‘World War II: China’s Forgotten War’, and the US Daytime Emmy winning docudrama ‘Scars of Nanking’." He is also a Senior Consultant of The International Golden Panda Documentary Festival in China.

Rajay Singh

Rajay is a film director, founder and soul of film and TV commercial production company Directors Think Tank, now ranked Asia Pacific’s No.2 by Campaign Brief’s The Work. When he is not directing commercials that win at Cannes, One Show and Adfest, Rajay is also judging at international shows such as the New York Film Festival and very recently, the YouTube 2019 Awards. A big believer in fostering young talent, he helped start the Kancil Awards’ 666 Young Director Competition, now a 2-year old event where young directors are paired up with established production houses to produce short film scripts that come to live.

Alex Lin is the Asia Pacific President of Huawei Consumer Business Group. Alex has held several key roles in the company, making his way from the local office up to a global role in only 14 years.

A multidisciplinary creative with rich experience in literature, design and film, Prabda Yoon has been credited as popularizing postmodern writing in Thailand. His work has been translated to Japanese, English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese languages.
