Huawei releases Petal Search in Singapore to connect users to more apps

New search tool powered by Petal Search has been created in partnership with global search engine leaders to offer Huawei users an innovative and diverse search experience

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) has announced the availability of Petal Search, which is available for download in the AppGallery store and in the latest update of EMUI10 (v10.1.0.131). The new search tool offers an alternative means to AppGallery for users to access and download a wider range of apps. With the latest EMUI10 update, users can add Petal Search as a widget on the home screen for easier app searches.

A new search experience

It is now easier for users to download the apps they are looking for on their Huawei devices including smartphones and tablets. The Petal Search app brings an alternative search experience that aggregates information, delivering the most relevant results for users to enable them to fully personalise and manage their smartphone experience.

Currently, the search tool lists apps from multiple sources with the source origins indicated under each app. Huawei’s AppGallery is integrated into Petal Search and any apps already available in the AppGallery will appear at the top of any search in the tool.

Created in partnership with global search engine leaders, the Petal Search app brings together the best in hardware-based security and safety technologies, combined with privacy standards set by these leading privacy-by-design search engines, to ensure the highest standards of data privacy and security for Huawei users.
Petal Search also leverages on the company’s commercial partnerships and sources customised information to provide the latest information from aggregating apps, news, movies, music images and more to provide a diverse mobile search experience for users.

Availability

Petal Search currently supports more than 40 languages and is available in 45 countries and regions, with plans for wider rollout to even more countries in the future. It is now available in Singapore to download from the AppGallery by searching “Petal Search – Find Apps” and is included as part of the latest EMUI 10.1.0.131 update.

All Huawei devices run on the latest version of Android and customers can continue to enjoy their apps via these methods:

1) Phone Clone – An easy way to transfer your apps, contacts, data, files and photos from your old smartphone to your new smartphone.

2) AppGallery – Huawei’s official app store that offers a growing list of apps. It features a 4-layer detection mechanism to ensure apps featured are safe to download and use. Simply browse and download the apps you need.

3) Petal Search widget - One of three ways in which Huawei users can find and download apps on to their HMS devices, alongside AppGallery and Phone Clone. Simply use it directly from the home screen of your device.
