Phone/Tablet is rooted

Note: Rooting your phone may bring unexpected negative impacts, so please be careful. If the device cannot work properly and cannot be restored, you shall bear responsibility.

If your device has been rooted, you can use HiSuite or eRecovery to restore the system.

Please back up your data before using the following methods, as your personal data may be erased during the process.

Use HiSuite to restore your phone

  1. Install the latest version of HiSuite on your computer.
  2. Power off your phone and connect it to a computer using a USB cable. Press and hold the Volume down button and Power button for several seconds to enter Fastboot mode. For the Mate 30 Pro or PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 30 RS, which both have no volume buttons, press and hold the Power button for three to five times in quick succession and wait for the screen to light up a few seconds later.
  3. Go to HiSuite > System recovery > Continue > Recover.
  4. Wait until the restoration is complete. The system will be restored to a default version.
  5. Your phone will automatically restart and load the home screen. This may take a while to complete.

Do not disconnect the USB cable, power off or restart your phone, or remove or insert a micro memory card during the recovery process.

Use eRecovery to restore your phone

Connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network before the update and keep the battery level above 30%. It is recommended that you connect to a home Wi-Fi rather than a public network.

  1. Power off your phone, then connect your phone to a computer using a USB cable, or continue charging the phone. Press and hold the Volume up button and Power button at the same time for about 15 seconds to enter eRecovery mode.

For the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro or PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 30 RS, press the Power button multiple times in quick succession to enter eRecovery mode.

  1. Go to Download latest version and recovery > Download and recovery, and your phone will search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select a Wi-Fi network and enter the password to establish a connection with the phone.
  3. Your phone will automatically obtain the installation package information and start downloading. This may take a while to complete.
  4. Your phone will then automatically install the downloaded update package and start a countdown to indicate how long is left before the phone restarts once the update is complete.
