Using the HUAWEI Wireless Mouse GT app to configure mouse settings such as lighting effects and mouse macros |
1. Downloading and installing the app
Computers do not usually have the HUAWEI Wireless Mouse GT app pre-installed. When you connect a HUAWEI Wireless Mouse GT device to a computer running Windows 10, the computer's default browser will automatically redirect you to the product introduction page on the official Huawei website. (If you are not automatically redirected, visit https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/accessories/wireless-mouse-gt/.) Find and click Software Download, then follow the onscreen instructions to finish downloading and installing the app.
Devices running other operating systems do not support installing the HUAWEI Wireless Mouse GT app. Please use a computer running Windows 10 to install the app.
2. Configuring the mouse settings (such as lighting effects and mouse macros) through the app
The HUAWEI Wireless Mouse GT app allows you to configure lighting effects, mouse macros, and other mouse settings. You can also use this app to update the mouse firmware when updates are available.
- Configuring lighting effects
- On the app home screen, click Lighting effects to enter the settings screen for lighting effects.
- On the displayed screen, set Lighting effects to Always on, Breathing, Colorful, Waves, Colorful loop, or Trigger.
- If Always on, Breathing, or Trigger is used, you can set the colors of the outline lighting and wheel lighting. If Waves is used, you can set the color of the waves.
- If Breathing, Colorful, Waves, Colorful loop, or Trigger is used, you can set the Speed of the lighting effects to Fastest, Fast, Medium, Slow, or Slowest.
- Click Enable lighting effects to enable lighting effects for the mouse. Click Enable outline lighting to enable outline lighting for the mouse.
Enabling outline lighting will increase the power consumption of the mouse and affect the battery life in wireless mode.
- Drag the slider under Brightness to adjust the brightness of lighting effects. Level 0 indicates that lighting effects are turned off and level 100 is the brightest that the lighting effects can be.
- Click Restore to default in the lower left corner to restore the lighting effects to their default settings.
- Click Save in the lower left corner to apply the lighting effect settings to the mouse.
- Configuring mouse macros
- On the home screen of the mouse app, click Mouse macros to enter the settings screen for mouse macros.
- Click New macro and follow the onscreen instructions to add a macro for the mouse. A new macro can be configured as a button function, system function, or command function. Right-click the macro name to edit it. The modification method is the same as the method for creating a macro.
- Button functions can be used to trigger all the preset button functions when you click the specified buttons on the mouse.
- System/command functions are used to trigger system/command functions when you click the specified buttons on the mouse.
- A maximum of 15 macros can be added.
- Drag a new macro to a mouse button and enable the macro for a specified button. If a macro is configured for a button, you can reconfigure the macro for the button or restore the button to its default settings.
Left- and right-clicking must be configured using two of the seven buttons on the mouse. Otherwise, the left and right buttons on the mouse cannot be configured with other functions.
- Configuring mouse settings
On the home screen of the mouse app, click Mouse settings to enter the mouse settings screen. The settings screen is explained below:
- Battery level: You can view the battery level of the mouse.
- Common macro settings: You can drag common macros to mouse buttons to enable them on those mouse buttons.
- Report rate: In 2.4 GHz wireless mode or wired mode, you can set the report rate of the mouse to 125, 250, 500, or 1000. The report rate refers to how often the mouse reports its coordinates.
- DPI: You can choose from five DPI levels. You can click the number below each level to set the respective DPI value. The possible values range from 100 to 16,000. The maximum DPI value of a level must be less than the minimum DPI value of the next level.

Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner on the Settings screen to set the language, restore the mouse to its factory settings, enable/disable automatic check for updates, upgrade the mouse firmware, or view the app version. The onscreen instructions will provide more detailed guidance.
