Backing up data to an external storage device (such as a USB flash drive or an external hard drive) to create a system recovery drive |
A system recovery drive enables you to back up all data from your drives, desktop, and default Windows folders. In addition, a system image is created by the Windows system, which is used to restore the data when your computer is not working properly.
This operation requires that your USB flash drive has sufficient space and is in NTFS format.
To create a system recovery drive, perform the following:
- Enter Control Panel in the search box on the taskbar and open it.
- Click System and Security.
- Click Backup and Restore (Windows 7).
- Select Set up backup.
- Select the drive to save your backup in and click Next in the displayed Set up backup window.
- Select either Let Windows choose or Let me choose, and click Next.
- Click Save settings and run backup. A message will be displayed when the backup is finished.
Thanks for your feedback.
