Adjusting the keyboard's repeat delay and repeat rate

  1. Enter "Control Panel" in the search box on the taskbar and open it.

  2. Set View by: to Small icons and click Keyboard.

  3. Drag the slide bars under Repeat delay and Repeat rate respectively to adjust your typing response speed. For example, if you type quickly, drag the slide bar under Repeat delay to the right to set a shorter delay duration, and drag the slide bar under Repeat rate to the right to set a faster repeat rate. Your keyboard will then respond more quickly to your typing. Click Apply.
