FAQs related to system updates and recovery using HiSuite

1. Can HiSuite restore my phone to the original official version?

2. Can I roll back my phone from EMUI 5.0 to EMUI 4.1?

3. Unable to enter Fastboot mode.

4. When rolling back my phone, a message is displayed indicating that verification has failed.

  1. Can HiSuite restore my phone to the original official version?

Yes. Your phone can be restored if it supports this feature (refer to the feature description). To do this, power off your phone and connect it to a computer. Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button to enter Fastboot mode, then touch Root to root your phone.

If your phone fails to power on or restarts repeatedly, press and hold the Power button to forcibly power off your phone, and try entering Fastboot mode again.

If you are still unable to enter Fastboot mode, take your phone and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.

  1. Can I roll back my phone from EMUI 5.0 to EMUI 4.1?

You cannot roll back your phone from EMUI 5.0 to EMUI 4.1 if EMUI 5.0 is your phone's factory system version.

If you do not know your phone's factory system version, go to the system update page of HiSuite and check whether a version rollback option is available. If so, follow the onscreen instructions to roll back your phone.

  1. Unable to enter Fastboot mode.

Power off your phone and connect it to a computer. Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button to enter Fastboot mode. If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.

  1. When rolling back my phone, a message is displayed indicating that verification has failed.

Problem:

After the user uses HiSuite 8.X to roll back their Mate 8 phone from B596 to B386, the restart verification fails during the process.

Solution:

Update HiSuite to version 9.0.2.300 or later and roll back your phone again.

  1. If the HD icon can be displayed normally before the phone system is restored, but cannot be displayed afterwards, try the following: Remove the SIM card and insert another SIM card provided by a different carrier into your phone. When the new SIM card successfully registers with the network, remove it and insert the original SIM card into your phone to resolve the issue.
  2. Note: System Recovery only works when there is a corresponding ROM and when it is supported by your device hardware.
