Data that can be cloned by HUAWEI Phone Clone/Tablet Clone

System version requirements: Phone Clone/Tablet Clone only supports data transfer between HUAWEI phones/tablets running HarmonyOS 2.0/Android 7.0/EMUI 5.0/MagicUI 4.0.0 or later and iPhones running iOS 11 or later. There may be data compatibility issues with earlier versions.

Device requirements: Only HUAWEI phones/tablets can be used as new phones/tablets (that is, data receivers) during Phone Clone/Tablet Clone. Non-HUAWEI phones/tablets (including new HONOR phones/tablets) cannot receive data.

1. HUAWEI phone/tablet -> HUAWEI phone/tablet

Data that can be transferred

Contacts, messages (common SMS, enhanced SMS, and MMS), call logs, calendar (events), notes, images, audio (including music, recordings by Recorder, and call recordings), videos, documents, and applications (third-party app data, such as WeChat chat records and QQ app data, as well as some system app data, such as manager settings and browser bookmarks).

App data refers to the data stored under the system path (data/data), not app data created and saved on the internal storage card or SD card, such as downloaded media files.

You can clone contacts, messages, call logs, calendar events, Gallery, music, and documents between the PrivateSpace on the old device and the PrivateSpace on the new device.

Only images, audio, videos, and documents on the SD card can be transferred.

Data items supported by each phone system version:

1. EMUI 5.0 or earlier: Calendar, notes, clock, harassment blocking, manager settings, Wi-Fi settings, weather, AI Tips, and home screen icon layout.

2. EMUI 5.1 or later: Camera settings, recordings, system settings, Baidu IME for HUAWEI, call recordings, Clock, HUAWEI Mobile Services, SMS settings, and Driving mode.

3. EMUI 9.0 or later: Password Vault, DS-Engine, taskbar in Desktop mode, and Data Management Services.

4. HarmonyOS 2.0.0 or later: Data such as images of one sub-user account, which can be transferred to another sub-user account, but cannot be transferred to MainSpace.

5. HarmonyOS 2.0.0 or later: Local data in hidden albums in Gallery.

6. HarmonyOS 3.0.0 or later: Data in Safe.

Data items supported by each version of Phone Clone/Tablet Clone:

1. Phone Clone/Tablet Clone (EMUI 8.x/9.x): Text, voice messages, images, videos, and other WeChat files under tencent/MicroMsg in the internal storage card.

2. Phone Clone/Tablet Clone (EMUI 9.x/10.x): Twin app data, as long as both the old and new HUAWEI phones/tablets run EMUI 9.0 or later.

Data that cannot be transferred

Basic data: Data on the SIM card, such as contacts from the SIM card and third-party accounts, protected SMS messages that contain verification codes, and SIM card 1 and SIM card 2 identifiers for call logs and messages.

Multimedia data: Photos and videos stored on the cloud.

Apps and their data: Cache data, data of financial apps, apps and data with compatibility issues, and Douyin app data.

Data of twin apps: Photos, videos, and other data in twin apps, such as the twin app of WeChat, which can only be transferred when the twin app is transferred.

Lock screen password and fingerprint data: Such data is advanced privacy information and is stored in a special safe zone. Therefore, the data cannot be accessed by Phone Clone or Tablet Clone and therefore cannot be transferred.

Card data such as bank card and access card information: For privacy security purposes, such cards associated with Huawei Pay are not within the clone scope and cannot be transferred.

Theme and Health app data.

Account data: Data in sub-user and guest accounts cannot be cloned in earlier Phone Clone versions.

1. Cloning will overwrite the existing data in the apps such as WeChat, Clock, Weather, and home screen settings.

2. The following data will not be overwritten after cloning, such as contacts, SMS messages, call logs, calendar events, notes, and images. That is, cloning adds data that is not included before.

2. Other Android phones/tablets -> HUAWEI phones/tablets

Contacts, messages (SMS and MMS), call logs, calendar (events), images, audio (including music, recordings by Recorder, and call recordings), videos, documents, and applications (excluding associated data).

3. iPhone -> HUAWEI phone/tablet

Contacts, calendar events, and photos and videos taken using the pre-installed camera app. Other data and apps cannot be cloned. To transfer app data, it is recommended that you check whether the app supports data transfers on the corresponding settings screen. For example, WeChat supports chat history migration, and you can open the app and go to Me > Settings > General > Chat History Migration & Backup to migrate its chat history.
