How do I set up a wireless network with Mesh series routers that are not in the same pack? |
HUAWEI Mesh series routers support wireless networking between packs, expanding signal coverage. (In the following, the first installed and configured routers are called the first pack, while those added later are the second pack.)
Steps
- Configure and connect the primary router in the first pack to a network, and then connect the other secondary routers in the pack to a power supply. The secondary routers will automatically set up a network with the primary router.
If the first pack is a single-pack, you only need to configure and connect the router to a network.
- Place the second pack of routers near any router in the first pack, and connect them to a power supply.
- Wait 2 minutes. When the indicator on any router in the first pack starts flashing, press the H button on that router to connect a router in the second pack. When the indicator is steady green/blue, the networking is successful.
- Once the indicator on any router in the first pack starts flashing again, press the H button once more to connect another router in the second pack. When the indicators on all routers in the two packs turn to steady green/blue, it indicates that the networking between the first pack and the second pack is successful.
When setting up a network, the router in the first pack with a better performance will automatically be selected to connect to routers in the second pack.
- Once the networking is successful, all routers will use the same Wi-Fi name and password. As you move around, the Wi-Fi network will automatically switch to the Wi-Fi network of another router.
