For the HUAWEI Wi-Fi Mesh, HUAWEI Wi-Fi Mesh 3, and HUAWEI Wi-Fi Mesh 7, you can set up a network by connecting routers between packs to bring seamless connectivity to every corner of your home. For example, you can set up a network using one pack of HUAWEI WiFi Mesh 3 and one pack of HUAWEI WiFi Mesh 7 routers, or using two packs of HUAWEI WiFi Mesh 3 routers.
To help you understand, we will describe the routers configured first as the first pack, and subsequent routers joining the network as the second pack.
You can connect them to set up a network as follows:
- Take out the first pack of routers. Configure and connect a router to a network, which will serve as the primary router, and then connect other secondary routers in the pack to a power supply. The secondary routers will automatically set up a network with the primary router.
If the first pack is a single-pack, you only need to configure the router to set up a network.
- To connect the second pack, put one of the routers near a router from the first pack, and connect it to a power supply. Wait for 2 minutes until the indicator of the router of the first pack starts blinking, and then press the H button on the blinking router. If the indicators of the two routers are always blue or green, it indicates that the connection is successful.
- After the indicator of the router in the first pack starts blinking again, connect the remaining routers from the second pack one-by-one in the same way. When all indicators of the routers turn green or blue, it indicates that a network has been successfully set up with the two packs of routers.
When setting up a network, the router in the first pack with a better performance will automatically be selected to connect with routers in the second pack.
- After the network is successfully set up, all routers will share the same Wi-Fi name and password. When you move around at home, the Wi-Fi network will automatically switch to the Wi-Fi network of another router.
