Finger Gesture Screenshot

Capturing screenshots on your HUAWEI computer has never been easier, thanks to the Finger Gesture Screenshot feature*. When this function is enabled, you can simply swipe down on your display with your fingers to take a snip of the screen or to extract and edit the text from the image.

* This function is supported by all HUAWEI computers featuring a touchscreen, except for HUAWEI MateBook and HUAWEI MateBook E 2019. To use this function, please update the PC Manager to version 9.1 or above.

Finger Gesture Screenshot is enabled by default on HUAWEI computers featuring a touchscreen.

You can use this function to capture a specific window, the entire screen, or just a part of the screen. Simply swipe down on the display with three fingers.

The screen will dim and a pop-up window will be displayed; click Don't show this again if you do not want to see the same message when taking a screenshot again. Now you can select one of the available options:

Selection: draw a diagonal line on the screen to capture a rectangular area.

Window: draw a diagonal line across a window to capture that window.

Screen: tap the display with one finger to capture the entire screen.

Custom: draw an enclosed shape to capture that part of the screen.

In each case, a blue line will indicate the gesture drawn on the screen.

If you have successfully captured a screenshot, the computer automatically identifies and extracts the text in the image, displaying it on the right of the image. You can select, copy and paste that text in other documents.

If no screenshot was taken, the computer will remain in capture mode.
