| Text is only displayed in black or white when High contrast text is enabled on my HUAWEI phone/tablet |
Problem:
Coloured (such as red or blue) screen text is displayed in black when High contrast text is enabled. Some prominent examples of this include the following:
- The numbers of missed calls are displayed in black rather than red.

- The names of enabled features in the notification panel are displayed in black rather than blue.

- When the user adds text to an image in Gallery, the text is displayed in black regardless of the selected text colour.
- For third-party video and live streaming apps, the colours of bullet comments do not display.
- The Huawei Notes app only supports black fonts.
Cause:
High contrast text aims to improve the legibility of onscreen text by displaying all text in either black or white. The text colour displayed will depend on the original text colour.
Solution:
To disable the High contrast text feature, go to Settings, search for and touch Accessibility, then disable High contrast text.
