Phone does not function well as a digital car key

Problem:

When doubling as a digital car key, the phone cannot unlock the car door or requires several attempts to do so.

Cause:

  1. NFC is disabled on the phone.
  2. The phone has a metal protective case, which prevents NFC from working properly.
  3. Your phone's NFC sensor area is not aligned with the car door handle. The handle's NFC sensor area is not labelled, and may take some time to locate.

Solution:

  1. Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, then enable NFC.
  2. Remove the metal protective case and try again.
  3. Your phone's NFC sensor area is located on the back, in the centre-top area. Please align the phone NFC sensor with the car door handle. When swiping your phone, press it against the door handle, or move the centre point of the NFC sensor area away from the centre of the door handle before aligning it again. The location of the car door handle's NFC sensor area can vary according to car model. Usually it is located between the centre and rear end of the handle. For details, please consult with the car manufacturer.
