Audio channel issues when an iPhone is connected to HUAWEI Bluetooth devices (e.g. watches, earbuds)

Audio channel issues occur, such as channel switchover errors, when an iPhone is connected to one or more HUAWEI Bluetooth devices, including watches and earbuds.

When an iPhone is only connected to a single watch

  1. When an incoming call is answered on the phone, the phone outputs the sound but displays a message that the call is in progress on the watch. After a few seconds, a prompt appears on the phone indicating that the call is in progress on the phone.
  2. When an outgoing call from the user's phone is answered, the phone outputs the sound but displays a message that the call is in progress on the watch, and the other party cannot hear the user.
  3. During a WeChat call, the phone displays a message that the call is in progress on the watch, but no sound can be heard from either the phone or watch.
  4. During a WeChat voice/video call on the phone, the audio automatically switches to the watch.

When an iPhone is connected to a watch and a pair of earbuds simultaneously

  1. When the earbuds are worn and an incoming call is answered on the watch, the sound is played from the phone.
  2. When the earbuds are worn and an incoming call is answered on the phone, no sound is heard from the phone, watch, or earbuds.
  3. When the earbuds are worn and an incoming call is answered on the phone, the sound is played from the watch.
  4. When the earbuds are worn and an outgoing call is made on the phone, the sound is played from the phone.

Solution

Due to Bluetooth restrictions on the phone, the watch cannot select an audio output channel. In this case, you'll need to manually select a device for audio output through your phone. You can also end the current call and make it again.

This is an issue caused by iPhone's mechanism. We have reported this issue to Apple. To speed up resolution, you can also contact Apple's customer service.
