1 Preface

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("HUAWEI") has formulated its warranty policy in accordance with the laws and regulations related to the protection of consumer rights and interests in Ireland. The warranty policy is not intended to replace the laws governing the sale of consumer goods, nor the rights and privileges enjoyed by consumers against the original retail seller of the product. Therefore, it does not affect, change, or replace such rights.

1.1 Warranted Products

This warranty policy only applies to Huawei-branded smartphones and packaged accessories that are purchased in Ireland. If the product was purchased in a Member State of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Norway, or Switzerland, the warranty of the country/region of purchase will apply. However, warranty service may be delayed if accessed in a country/region other than the country/region of purchase.

Huawei provides warranty services for Huawei-branded smartphones. Consumers can access warranty repair service for eligible products at any Huawei customer service centre in Ireland.

2.2 Proof of Warranty

To access warranty services at a Huawei customer service centre, you'll need to verify your warranty status, which can be done by providing any one of the following materials. If the warranty information differs between materials, the information on the paper invoice will prevail.

  • The Huawei customer service centre will need to verify the invoice validity before warranty services can be provided.

E-Warranty Card

  • If you are unable to provide the original paper invoice or proof of purchase, the E-Warranty Card can be used to verify your warranty status.
  • You can find the E-Warranty Card of your product by going to Quick services > Benefits in the Support app or My HUAWEI app.
     
    • E-Warranty Cards are only available for Huawei smartphones that were originally installed with EMUI 9.0 or a later version.
    • Phones originally installed with an earlier version, which were later updated to EMUI 9.0 or a later version, are not eligible for an E-Warranty Card.

SN

The product Serial Number (SN) can be used to verify the product warranty status, if you are unable to provide any other materials.

Other proof of purchase

Other supplementary documents that clearly indicate the product, price, and date of purchase, such as a receipt.

2.3 Warranty Services

In-Warranty Repair

  • Within the warranty period, products with faulty performance are eligible for warranty-covered repair service at any Huawei customer service centre, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Huawei commits to providing warranty service for any necessary replacement parts and accessories for 3 months following the date of repair, or for the remaining period of the product warranty (whichever is longer).

Out-of-Warranty Repair

Products that meet either of the following conditions are only eligible for paid out-of-warranty repair service:

  1. Products whose warranty period has expired.
  2. Products that have been damaged due to user-related faulty performance, or unauthorised disassembly/repair.

2.4 Products Not Covered by the Warranty

This warranty policy does not cover defects and damage resulting from:

  1. Normal wear and tear of the equipment or otherwise due to the normal ageing of the equipment.
  2. The Product being used other than in a normal and customary manner.
  3. Any disassembly, repair, alteration or modifications carried out by anyone other than HUAWEI or an Authorised Service Center.
  4. Misuse, abuse, negligence or an accident howsoever caused.
  5. Improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, or any alteration or modification of the Product.
  6. Spillage of food or liquids, corrosion, rust or the use of wrong voltage.
  7. Scratches or damage to plastic surfaces and all other externally exposed parts due to normal use.
  8. Use outside of use permitted under the product's user manual.

3 Repair Quality Assurance

  • All repair parts are originals, and have passed a strict quality control process.
  • Warranty-covered replacement parts/accessories are granted a limited three-month (3-month) warranty, or will otherwise be covered for the remaining period of the product warranty (whichever is longer).
  • Replacement parts/accessories for out-of-warranty repairs are granted a limited three-month (3-month) warranty.

4 Repair Guide

Please take note of the following when applying for repair service:

  • Make sure that you have brought the main product and accessories, as well as the product's unaltered invoice.
  • Remember to back up and delete any personal data before having the product repaired. Huawei will not be held responsible for any data-related loss resulting from its performance of a warranty service, in the event that you have failed to back up, delete, and/or remove such data. Huawei will not store any of the personal data on your product for any purpose.
  • If the product is determined not to be covered by the warranty, the Huawei customer service centre can only offer paid out-of-warranty repair along with a diagnostic report.

5 Other Statements

Limitation of Huawei's liability:

  1. Except for the express warranties set forth above, Huawei grants no other warranties, express or implied, by statute or otherwise, regarding the Product, fitness for any purpose or otherwise. Consumer law in some countries/regions does not permit limitations under a product warranty and therefore certain limitations set out in this warranty document may not apply to you.
  2. Huawei is not responsible or liable for the damage to or loss of any programs, data, SIM card or removable storage media where you do not back up your data before delivering your product to Huawei or a Huawei customer service centre for service under this warranty.
  3. To the extent permitted by local laws, Huawei shall not be liable for any loss which is not a reasonably foreseeable consequence of a breach by Huawei of this warranty. As a consumer your use of the devices shall be non-commercial. Huawei shall therefore not be liable to you for any loss of profits, revenue, anticipated savings contracts or time arising out of your use of or inability to use the device.
  4. In any event, Huawei and its supplier's liability under this limited warranty shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the consumer for the product or the current replacement value, whichever is greater.
  5. Nothing in this warranty shall exclude or limit Huawei's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

  • Replacement parts/accessories for out-of-warranty repairs are granted a limited three-month (3-month) warranty.

  • Make sure that you have brought the main product and accessories, as well as the product's unaltered invoice.
  • Remember to back up and delete any personal data before having the product repaired.
