My phone does not recognise an NM card
| My phone does not recognise an NM card |
1. Check whether your phone supports the NM card
Only phones that support the NM cards can identify them.
2. Check whether the memory card is inserted into the NM card tray
Your phone can identify the NM card only when it is inserted into the NM card tray. The NM card slot is marked with "NM", as shown in the following figure.

3. Check if a SIM card in the NM card tray can be recognised
Insert a SIM card into the NM card tray and check whether your phone can recognise the SIM card. If the SIM card can't be recognised, the NM card tray may be damaged. In this case, back up your data and take your phone and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance. If the SIM card can be recognised, go to the next step.
4. Check whether the NM card is purchased from an authorised channel and whether it is a Huawei genuine one
Third-party NM cards may be of poor quality and cannot be recognised. Phones with Kirin 990 chipsets can only recognise Huawei NM cards.
To check whether your NM card is Huawei genuine, check the product purchase order or check whether the edge connector of your NM card has a product serial number (13 digits, and the first four digits indicate the production year and month), as shown in the following figure. Genuine NM cards have a serial number on them.
