Problem

The screen turns black when users place the tablet on a magnetic object (such as a folio keyboard).

Cause

Magnetic objects such as a keyboard cause the Hall effect sensor to trigger the closing of the tablet's case, and the tablet will enter Sleep mode.

Solution

  1. This is normal and does not indicate an issue with your device. To resolve this, move your tablet away from the magnetic object.
  2. When using the tablet, do not place it on magnetic objects such as a keyboard.
