Why does my wireless device lose packets when pinging to the router?

Wireless signals are subject to multiple forms of interference and obstruction. Wireless signals may be weakened by interference from signals within the same frequency range, and obstruction from furniture and walls within the home.

To address this issue, try to select a channel with minimal interference sources, and avoid placing the router near devices which may cause co-channel interference, such as a microwave oven.
