Why is the left and right sound volume of my headset imbalanced when playing a recording?

To improve the quality and effects of your recordings, your phone adopts a stereo recording design, in which the primary and secondary microphones input audio simultaneously. During playbacks, the left channel of the headset plays the recording of the primary microphone, while the right channel plays the recording of the secondary microphone to achieve stereo sound effects.

  • If the phone is placed horizontally on a tabletop during recording, the input volume of the primary (bottom) and secondary (top) microphones varies due to the difference in their distances from the sound source, and therefore the playback volume of the headset's left and right channels will be imbalanced.
  • When you hold your phone vertically and talk, the primary and secondary microphones are about the same distance from the sound source. Therefore, the audio input during recording, as well as the headset's left and right output volume will be relatively the same.
