Get Closer with Super Macro

Delve down into the details by enabling Super macro mode, and capture the dance of a dragonfly or dewdrop in descent.

Shoot Close-up Photos, with Super Macro

  1. You can access Super macro in any of the following ways:

    • Open Camera, and select Photo mode. Then frame your subject within the viewfinder, and bring your camera closer. When the camera is close enough, it will automatically enter Super macro mode and focus in on the subject, and will display in the viewfinder.

    • Go to Camera > More, and select Super macro mode. The camera will automatically focus. You can also touch AF and drag the zoom slider to manually focus, or touch the screen to automatically focus once.

  2. Drag the zoom slider in the viewfinder, or pinch or spread out two fingers on screen, to adjust the focal length. A larger value indicates a higher magnification.

  3. Touch to take the picture.

 
  • Under Photo mode, if you wish to exit Super macro, touch .

  • If wide angle is supported on your device, you can also drag the zoom slider in the viewfinder to take a macro photo with a zoom level below 1x.

Shoot Close-up Videos, with Super Macro

  1. You can access Super macro in any of the following ways:

    • Open Camera, and select Video mode. Then frame your subject within the viewfinder, and bring your camera closer. When the camera is close enough, will display in the viewfinder. Touch to enter Super macro mode. The camera will automatically focus in on the subject.

    • Go to Camera > More, select Super macro mode, and touch to switch to Video mode. The camera will automatically focus. You can also touch AF and drag the zoom slider to manually focus, or touch the screen to automatically focus once.

  2. Drag the zoom slider in the viewfinder, or pinch or spread out two fingers on screen, to adjust the focal length. A larger value indicates a higher magnification.

  3. Touch to begin recording.

Under Video mode, if you wish to exit Super macro, touch .

Wide-angle Macro Shooting and Telephoto Macro Shooting

Wide-angle macro shooting and telephoto macro shooting are two macro shooting modes. Wide-angle macro shooting accommodates a larger viewfinder range, while telephoto macro shooting magnifies details, making it ideal for shooting small objects from a distance, such as insects.

  1. Under Super macro mode, drag the zoom slider in the viewfinder. Drag it to the left of to switch to wide-angle macro shooting, and drag it to or to its right side to switch to telephoto macro shooting.

    Once you have entered telephoto macro shooting mode, the PiP preview frame will display in the viewfinder, to help with checking the focus.

  2. Drag the zoom slider in the viewfinder, or pinch or spread two fingers on the screen, to adjust the focal length. A larger value indicates a higher magnification.

  3. Touch the shutter button to take the photo or video.
