Unable to stop push notifications (such as for software updates or third-party apps) from displaying in the notification panel on my HUAWEI phone

Push notifications from third-party apps continually display in the notification panel

You can swipe left or right on the notification in the notification panel, touch Settings icon to go to the app notification management screen, and disable Allow notifications. If the Settings icon can't be found after you swipe left or right on the notification, open Settings, search for and access Apps, find the app in question, touch Notifications, and disable Allow notifications.

System update notifications constantly display in the notification panel

System update notifications can't be disabled. It is recommended that you update your phone at your earliest convenience to ensure optimal security and a better experience. You can perform the following steps to reduce the number of system update notifications you receive:

  1. Open Settings, search for and access Auto-download over Wi-Fi, and disable Auto-download over Wi-Fi and Update overnight.

  2. You can also disable the app icon badge for Settings. Open Settings, search for and access App icon badges, and go to App icon badges > Badge display mode, select Dots, search for the Settings app, and disable App icon badges.

  • Some phone models only have one such option, and you will only need to turn off the corresponding switch.
  • After that, whenever a system update is available, a red dot will display in Settings > System > System update to notify you. This red dot will continue to display until you update your phone to the latest version.
