Setting the screen refresh rate on a HUAWEI computer

The refresh rate of a display refers to how many times per second the display updates with new images. It is measured in Hertz (Hz). Theoretically, a higher refresh rate indicates smoother image display. You can set the refresh rate in any of the following ways.

Method 1: Viewing and switching in Windows system settings

A HUAWEI monitor automatically adjusts the screen refresh rate after connecting to a computer. If your monitor does not automatically adjust the refresh rate, perform the following operations to manually set the refresh rate in the corresponding computer.

  1. Press Win+I to open the Settings window, go to System > Display > Advanced display (Windows 10: go to System > Display > Advanced display settings).

  2. Click Display adapter properties for Display 1.

  3. In the properties window, select the Monitor tab. Under Screen refresh rate, you will see the computer's default screen refresh rate. You can click the drop-down list box, select another refresh rate, and select OK.

    • Available refresh rates vary depending on the device model. You can select a refresh rate based on your requirements and the actual refresh rate displayed on your device.
    • If there is only one refresh rate option in the Screen refresh rate drop-down list box, the computer does not support screen refresh rate adjustment.

Method 2: Using the Fn+R shortcut for a quick view and switch

Let PC Manager run and press Fn+R. Different refresh rates will display and you can switch between them as needed.

  • This shortcut feature is only available in Huawei PC Manager and will not be available after you uninstall Huawei PC Manager.
  • Available refresh rates may vary depending on the product. If no refresh rate is displayed after you use the Fn+R shortcut, your laptop does not support this method.
  • Display refresh rate may vary depending on the app interface.

Method 3: Viewing and switching in Windows display settings (applicable only to 2-in-1 laptops)

  1. Disconnect the laptop from the folio keyboard, and place the laptop vertically.
  2. Touch and hold a blank area on the screen until a transparent box displays (or press Shift+F10), and go to Display settings > Advanced display > Choose a refresh rate.

    • HUAWEI MateBook E Go Performance Edition, HUAWEI MateBook E Go 2023, and HUAWEI MateBook E 2023 support two refresh rates: 120 Hz and 60 Hz.
    • HUAWEI MateBook E Go Basic Edition and HUAWEI MateBook E 2022 only support 60 Hz refresh rate.

  3. Select a refresh rate from the Choose a refresh rate drop-down list box.
