Setting the 5 GHz band as the preferred band

This operation is only available with computers that run the Intel platform.

  1. Right-click the network icon on the right of the taskbar and click Open Network & Internet settings

  2. Click Change adapter options.

  3. Right-click Wi-Fi and select Properties.

  4. Click Configure.

  5. Click Advanced settings. Select Preferred Band under Property: and choose your preferred band under Value:. Then click OK. For example, if you set Prefer 5GHz band, the computer will connect to the 5 GHz band automatically when you want to connect the computer to a network.
