Step count and step count notifications in the Huawei Health app

The Huawei Health app tracks your daily step count, which includes all the steps taken during physical activities such as walking, jogging, and brisk walking.

Your daily step count is translated, taking into account your height and weight, into personalized data including distance traveled and calories burned.

  • To enter your height and weight, go to Huawei Health > Me > Profile.
  • The step count feature in the Huawei Health app cannot be disabled.
  • The recorded step count data cannot be deleted.
  • Displaying the step count in the phone notification panel is not supported on iPhones.

Enabling/Disabling the step count display in the phone notification panel

To display the step count in the phone notification panel, open the Huawei Health app, go to Me > Settings > Notification management, make sure that System notifications is enabled, and then enable Show step count in Notification Panel.

To disable the step count display in the phone notification panel, simply disable Show step count in Notification Panel. (This will not affect the display of message, call, or other notifications.)

Step count on your phone

For phones supporting the step count feature: The Huawei Health app will display your step count.

For phones not supporting the step count feature: The Health screen of the Huawei Health app will display a dialog box.

You can view your step count on your HUAWEI wearable device. When your wearable device is connected to the Huawei Health app, you can also check your step count in the app.

Changing the step count goal: The step count goal-reached notification feature in the Huawei Health app cannot be disabled. To change the step count goal, access the Health screen of the app, tap Today's steps and then the change icon () on the right, drag the step count bar, and tap SAVE.
