After my HUAWEI phone/tablet is restarted or the screen is locked, the message "User data locked." displays, and a tone plays

Problem:

After the device is restarted or the screen is locked, the message "User data locked. Password required after restart" displays and a prompt tone plays. However, no message displays after the device is unlocked. As shown below:

Cause:

  1. System storage is encrypted by default, for optimal security. Before your device is unlocked after it is restarted, the device storage will remain encrypted and some features will remain disabled until the device is unlocked.
  2. If you have enabled PrivateSpace and linked a fingerprint for accessing it, and PrivateSpace has not been accessed via the PIN since your device was powered on, the preceding message will display when you access PrivateSpace via fingerprint when the screen is locked.

Solution:

This message does not affect your use of the device. You only need to touch or swipe on the screen to display the unlock screen, enter the correct lock screen password, and unlock the screen to enter the home screen.
