Problem
After a user updates the operating system to Windows 11 or installs Windows 11 on a HUAWEI computer, the user cannot find Internet Explorer.
Cause
In Windows 11, some functions of Internet Explorer are integrated into Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer is no longer used independently.
Solution
You can use one of the following solutions to solve this problem:
- Solution 1: Perform the following steps to enable the Internet Explorer compatibility mode of Microsoft Edge to open the target website:
- Open Microsoft Edge, press Alt+F to open the browser Settings page, and click Settings.
- Go to Allow, and click Restart. > Internet Explorer compatibility > Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode, change the Default setting to
- Open the website again, click in the upper right corner or press Alt+F to open the browser Settings page, and select Reload in Internet Explorer mode to reload the website in Internet Explorer mode.
Microsoft Edge is updated every month. If Microsoft Edge of the latest version does not have the preceding options, you can download other browsers.
- Solution 2: Install the Internet Explorer plug-in (Internet Explorer Tab may be charged). The installation method is as follows:
Open Microsoft Edge, click ... in the upper right corner, and go to Extensions > Get extensions for Microsoft Edge. Enter IE Tab in the search box on the left of the newly displayed page, and press Enter. In the search result, find IE Tab and click Get on the right. In the displayed dialog box, click Add extension to add the plug-in to Microsoft Edge. Copy and paste the required website to the search box on the Internet Explorer tab page.
- Solution 3:
- Right-click on the desktop and go to New > Shortcuts.
- Enter "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" https://www.baidu.com/#ie={inputEncoding}&wd=%s -Embedding in the text entry box.
- You can define a shortcut name.
- Open the shortcut icon of Internet Explorer on the desktop, and then enter the corresponding website address.
Solution 4: If the solutions above do not work, you can download a browser whose kernel is similar to that of Internet Explorer.
