My HUAWEI nova Y90 fails to read my SIM card

Problem:

When a SIM card is inserted into card slot 2, which is located on the front of the card tray on the HUAWEI nova Y90, the phone does not detect the SIM card.

Cause:

The HUAWEI nova Y90 can only detect a SIM card if it is inserted into card slot 1, which is located on the back of the card tray. Card slot 2 can only detect memory cards.

Solution:

Place the SIM card into card slot 1 according to the identifier on the card tray frame.

• Card slot 1 is marked with "SIM1" on the back of the card tray, as shown in the image below.

• Card slot 2 is marked with a string of digits on the front of the card tray, as shown in the image below.
