Fixing Notifications on Your Watch/Band

Your watch or band shows messages from your phone using the Huawei Health app. If notifications aren’t working, follow this checklist.

1             🔔 Things to Know

  • 📂 PrivateSpace messages won’t appear on your watch/band. Switch to MainSpace to see them.
  • 📱 Your watch can connect to two phones, but only shows notifications from the one linked to the app.
  • 👀 Some watches only show that a message arrived, not the full content.
  • 🔄 If someone sends many messages quickly, some may be skipped to avoid too many alerts.

2             🛠 Step‑by‑Step Checklist

1. 📳 Check Your Phone’s Notification Settings

  • [ ] Huawei phones → Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar, select a desired app >  Toggle on Allow notifications. Enable sound, vibration, banners, lock screen alerts, allow interruptions, and app badges. Disable Gentle notifications.

  • [ ] Xiaomi phones → Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar > App notifications. Toggle on Show notifications, plus Floating notifications and Lock screen notifications.

Turn off Hide notification content in Settings > Apps > App lock.

  • [ ] Samsung phonesSettings > Notifications > Apps. Turn on the app switch and enable all notification types.

  • [ ] Other phones → Contact your phone manufacturer for instructions.

2. 🔗 Check the Connection

  • [ ] Open the Huawei Health app.
  • [ ] Tap Devices and confirm your watch/band is connected.

3. 🔒 Check App Permissions

  • [ ] Android 13 phones and + → Go to Settings > Apps > Huawei Health > More > Allow restricted settings. Then enable notifications.

  • [ ] Give Huawei Health permission to read notifications:
    • Huawei phonesSettings > Apps & Services > Special access > Notification access > Huawei Health, and grant the notifications access.

o   Xiaomi phonesSettings > Security & privacy > Other permissions > Special permissions >  Notifications, select Huawei Health, and grant the notifications access.

    •

  • [ ] In the Huawei Health app → Devices > [Your device] > Notifications. Turn on notifications and allow third‑party apps.

  • [ ] Keep the app running in the background. Add it to protected apps if needed.

4. 🔄 Update Your Devices

  • [ ] Update your watch/band firmware: Huawei Health app > Devices > [Your device] > Firmware update.

  • [ ] Update the Huawei Health app itself.

5. 📶 Reset Bluetooth or Network Settings

  • [ ] Huawei phones → Clear Bluetooth cache in Settings > Apps & services > Apps >  Show system processes > Bluetooth > Storage > Clear cache.

  • [ ] Android phones → Reset Wi‑Fi, mobile networks, and Bluetooth in Settings > Connection & sharing > Reset Wi‑Fi, mobile networks, and Bluetooth.

6. 🔄 Reinstall the App

  • [ ] Sync your data first: Huawei Health app > Me > Privacy management. Turn on cloud sync.

  • [ ] Uninstall and reinstall the Huawei Health app.

7. 🕑 Restore Your Watch/Band

  • [ ] Back up your data (restoring will erase everything).

  • [ ] Restore factory settings on your watch/band.

  • [ ] Pair it again with your phone.

3             🎯 Done!

If you’ve completed all the steps, your watch/band should now show notifications correctly.
