HUAWEI FreeLace neckband earphones charge slowly, or don't charge at all
HUAWEI FreeLace neckband earphones charge slowly, or don't charge at all |
If the earphones are unable to be charged or charge slowly, perform the following steps.
Click here for the solution for the FreeBuds series.
Update the earphones' firmware to the latest version
If the battery level of the earphones is higher than 10%, update the earphones' firmware to the latest version.
Charge the earphones with another charging cable for 5 minutes
If the charging cable is damaged, the earphones will not be able to be charged. In this case, replace the charging cable, or connect the earphones to a phone with a USB Type-C port. Wait for 15 seconds, and check whether the indicator has turned on. If the indicator flashes or remains steady on, it means that the earphones can be charged as normal.
The indicator and microphone of the HUAWEI FreeLace Pro are located on both sides of the control panel. The indicator is about 1 cm away from the Power button.
Check the ambient temperature
Charge the earphones in an environment with an ambient temperature ranging from 10°C to 45°C, for optimally safe charging. If the temperature is dramatically lower or higher than that range (below 0°C or over 45°C), you may find it difficult to charge the earphones.
Clean the USB plug on the earphones
If the USB-C plug has dirt or smudges on it, earphone charging may be affected. Separate the control panel, and check whether the earphones' plug is smudged.
If the USB plug is smudged on the inside, try re-inserting the USB plug multiple times. Then use a hair dryer to remove any smudges from the USB plug, and try charging the earphones once again.
Turn on the reverse charging switch on your phone or tablet
When using a phone or tablet to charge the earphones, the phone or tablet will need to support reverse charging. Some phone models are only able to charge the earphones after OTG has been enabled.
- OnePlus 5/OnePlus 5T: Go to .
- OPPO R17: Go to Settings > More > OTG connection.
- vivo NEX A/vivo NEX S: Go to Settings > More > OTG.
