How do I acquire Internet access configurations from my old router |
Currently, your HUAWEI WiFi Q2 can only be configured through the HUAWEI AI Life app. Once the initial configuration is complete, you can manage your router through the web-based management page.
If you have forgotten your broadband account or password required to configure your router, you can acquire the information from your old router to complete the configuration process. Please refer to the following procedures:
Preparations:
- Take out one of the routers from the pack (any one of the three routers can be configured as the main router) and connect its power supply, then connect the router's WAN port to an Extranet using an Ethernet cable.
- If you have a pre-installed HUAWEI AI Life app on your phone, ensure that it is up-to-date.
- Connect your phone to your router's Wi-Fi (no password is required). Your router's Wi-Fi name can be found at the bottom of the connected router.
- Open the HUAWEI AI Life app and go to CONFIGURE > SET UP.
If a notification prompt does not appear, touch the Add button in the upper right corner of the app's home screen.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the WAN port of your old router to LAN port on your HUAWEI WiFi Q2 connected to the Internet. Touch RETRIEVE FROM OLD ROUTER and follow the onscreen instructions to acquire your account and password.
Once the information is acquired, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable on your old router.
- The broadband account and password acquired from your old router will automatically appear in Broadband account and Broadband password fields. Touch CONNECT and follow the Internet access wizard to set a new Wi-Fi name and password, then place it accordingly to complete the configuration process for your main router. Once its indicator turns steady blue, you can access the Internet.
After configuring your main router, you can follow the onscreen instructions to continue the setup of your secondary routers. Connect their power supplies and they will establish network connections automatically.
