Are there other advantages of Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones besides the fast network speed?

At the drop of a hat, 5G mobile phones would entail the first impression of a fast network.

Indeed, under the 5G mode, a phone’s network speed will be largely increased.

But network speed is definitely not the only advantage of Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones.

Huawei 5G Dual-mode Mobile Phones Support Both SA and NSA

NSA refers to Non-Standalone 5G network mode, which means the combination of 5G base station and upgraded 4G core network. This “4G+Core Network” will support the 4G and 5G base stations simultaneously. It is just like one teacher who manages two classes at the same time. This is considered a low-cost method, but not all requirements in these 2 classes can be satisfied. So the 5G under NSA network mode can only realize the scenario of high speed.

On the contrary, SA refers to Standalone 5G network mode, namely the combination of 5G base station and 5G core network. This seems like assigning an exclusive teacher for each class to enjoy a more refined management, which means that all the needs of different classes can be met. So it is a long-term plan, and the scenarios of high speed, low delay and wide connections can be realized under this said network.

What are the Advantages of Supporting SA and NSA Modes at the Same Time?

Due to various network modes, some regions will preferentially start to build the 5G network with SA mode, while others may still adopt the NSA network mode.

To illustrate an example, 5G phones that only support NSA shall be compared to a common car running on a level road. In comparison, 5G phones that support both the NSA and SA modes can easily adapt to any network, which is like an SUV that is capable of running on a road and mountain path.

So Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones have a wider applicable scope and can be used under both the NSA and SA modes.

Huawei 5G Dual-mode Mobile Phones Support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS)

Under the NSA network, the MODEM controlling logic proved to be highly complicated given the mechanics of dual SIM cards, which brings a real challenge when it comes to the 5G terminal dual SIM cards’ design. In addressing this matter, our dedicated team have conducted a plethora of researches and tests on the Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones to support the NSA and SA modes. As a result, not only the Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones support the dual SIM dual standby, but they can also receive a phone call from one SIM card while the other one is calling, if both of these cards and their respective network service providers support the VoLTE function.

So far, Huawei 5G dual-mode mobile phones cannot support dual 5G SIM cards. After inserting two cards, only the default sim card supports the 5G network, while the other one can only support the 4G/3G/2G network.
