The resolution is only 3600 x 2400@30 Hz and a higher resolution can't be selected after a host is connected to the monitor through the HDMI port

Problem

The resolution is only 3600 x 2400@30 Hz and a higher resolution can't be selected after a host is connected to the monitor through the HDMI port.

Cause

The capability of the host or cable that uses HDMI 1.4 is insufficient to support the optimal resolution or refresh rate of the monitor.

Solution

When a host is connected to a HUAWEI MateView monitor through the HDMI port, the resolution is only 3600 x 2400 on the display settings screen and the refresh rate is 29/30 Hz on the advanced display settings screen. The capability of the host or cable that uses the HDMI 1.4 port (supporting up to 4K@30 Hz) is insufficient to support the optimal resolution or refresh rate of the monitor.

Perform the following operations to troubleshoot: 1. Connect the USB-C or MiniDP port on the monitor to the host. 2. Use a host that has an HDMI 2.0 port and a cable that supports the HDMI 2.0 rate with the monitor.
