How to clean FreeClip series earbuds
1. Cleaning tools
Rubbing alcohol, pointed cotton swab, soft brush, and dry soft cloth
2. Cleaning precautions
- You can use alcohol or disinfectant wipes to clean the outer surface of the earbuds.
- Do not use a wet cloth to clean the charging contacts, charging port, or holes on the earbuds, to prevent moisture or water from entering the earbuds.
- Avoid overstretching or bending the C-bridge when cleaning the earbuds, as this may affect your wearing experience.
3. Cleaning steps
- FreeClip 2/FreeClip charging case and charging port
- Use a soft and dry cloth to clean the charging case. If necessary, you can also use a wet wipe containing 70% alcohol to clean the outer surface of the charging case. Ensure that the charging case is dry before putting the earbuds back inside.
- Use a soft, clean, and dry brush to remove any objects in the charging port.
- Charging contacts on FreeClip 2/FreeClip earbuds
Use a soft, clean, and dry cloth to clean the charging contacts at the bottom of the earbuds.
- Holes on FreeClip 2/FreeClip earbuds
Use a clean and dry pointed cotton swab to gently remove any dirt from the holes, and then use a soft cloth for further cleaning. For details about their locations, see Location of the Function buttons and ports on HUAWEI earbuds.

- Charging contacts on the FreeClip charging case (for details, see the video above)
Use a pointed cotton swab dipped in 1–2 drops of rubbing alcohol to clean the charging contacts in the charging case. If the charging contacts sink or are dirty, use a pointed cotton swab dipped in 2–4 drops of alcohol, drip the alcohol onto the charging contacts, and then use the cotton swab to gently press the contacts up and down to dissolve the dirt. Then, use a clean cotton swab to remove the dirt on and around the contacts.

Suggestions for daily use
- If the earbuds have been exposed to sweat, shower gel, shampoo, or other liquids, or if you have worn the earbuds during a workout, clean and dry the surface and charging contacts of the earbuds before putting them back into the case.
- If the charging contacts are dirty or corroded, clean them in a timely manner.
- Clean the earbuds on a weekly basis to ensure an optimal user experience. Focus on areas such as the holes, charging port, charging contacts, and parts that come into contact with your skin when you wear them.
