When the pinyin input method is used, the first letter of the input text is identified as English on my computer
When the pinyin input method is used, the first letter of the input text is identified as English on my computer |
Problem
When the default Chinese input method is used, the first letter of the input text is identified as English (including third-party input methods).
Cause
This is due to Microsoft's design.
Solution
Workaround:
Solution 1:
- Press Win + R, enter "shell:startup" in the displayed dialog box, and press Enter. A folder is automatically displayed.
- Search for "TabTip" in the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop and choose Open file location.
- Right-click TabTip.exe and copy it, switch to the folder displayed in step 1, and right-click to paste the TabTip.exe file.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-click the blank area on the taskbar and choose Task Manager from the shortcut menu.
- In the Task Manager window, click the Startup tab. All programs that start automatically upon system startup are listed.
- Right-click TabTip and choose Enable from the shortcut menu.
Solution 2:
- Enable and disable the touch keyboard once. To do so, click the Windows icon, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Touch keyboard options, select Always, and then change it to Never.
- Click the Windows icon, go to Settings > Time and language > Input > Touch keyboard, and deselect Capitalize the first letter of each sentence.
Solution 3:
- Click the Windows icon, go to Settings > Time and language > Language and region, click the three-dot icon next to Simplified Chinese (China), click Language options, click the three-dot icon next to Microsoft Pinyin, go to Keyboard options > General, and disable Auto Partial Pinyin and Super Partial Pinyin.
Permanent solution:
- Perform a clean boot.
- Enter "cmd" in the search box at the bottom of the screen, right-click CMD, select Run as administrator, and run the following system repair commands:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /Scannow
After a clean boost, if the Chinese input method is working properly, please uninstall third-party software that may cause compatibility issues.
- Update the operating system to the latest version. For details, see Updating my HUAWEI computer's Windows system to the latest version.
