The screen of my HUAWEI tablet automatically dims when I hold it

Problem

The brightness adjusts automatically when the user is holding the tablet, making it a bit dimmer.

Cause

After you enable automatic screen brightness adjustment, your tablet will adjust its brightness as the ambient light changes. As the ambient light sensor is located in the tablet's lower frame (the position varies depending on the product model), your finger may block the sensor when you hold it in hand. As a result, the screen gets dimmer automatically.

Solution

1. Disable automatic screen brightness adjustment by going to Settings > Display & brightness > BRIGHTNESS > Automatic. Then adjust the screen brightness to a proper level manually.
2. Avoid covering the ambient light sensor with your finger or other objects.
