Feature support

Always On Display is only available on some phones. If there is no Always On Display in Settings, it indicates that the device does not support this feature.

If your device supports Always On Display but no date or time is displayed when the phone screen is turned off, perform the following to troubleshoot:

1. Conditions for using the Always On Display feature

  • Battery level: The device is charging or the battery level is higher than 10%. (This feature is unavailable when the battery level is lower than 10%, in order to extend the standby time.)
  • Power saving mode: Disable Ultra power saving mode or Power Saving mode. (When enabled, Always On Display is disabled to save power.)
  • Smart Cover mode: Always On Display does not work when the flip cover is closed.

2. Check the Always On Display settings

Versions Earlier Than EMUI 14.0

EMUI 14.0 and Later Versions

  1. Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Always On Display.
  2. Enable Always On Display again.
  3. If you want this feature to remain in effect, go to Display mode > All day.
  1. Go to Settings > Home screen & style > Always On Display.
  2. Tap in the upper right corner and enable Always On Display.
  3. If you want this feature to remain in effect, select All day.

Notes:

Full-screen Always On Display (AOD) does not support full-day display. Switch to another lock screen mode and try again.

If the display mode is set to Scheduled or All day, the system will automatically detect when your phone enters Sleep mode and turn off the AOD.

3. The proximity sensor is blocked

Your device uses the proximity sensor to determine whether it is in a pocket or bag. If the sensor is blocked or the phone screen is facing down, Always On Display will automatically turn off.

4. Check whether a third-party theme or font is being used, or if the font size has been changed

  • Third-party theme/font: Using a non-official theme or font may affect Always on display. It is recommended that you switch back to the system's default theme and font.
  • Font size/Display size: If you have adjusted the Text size or Display size on your phone, it is recommended that you switch to the Normal font or Default display.

5. If the issue persists

If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, please call the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance.
