Enabling and disabling the computer microphone
  1. Enter Control Panel in the search box on the taskbar, and open it.

  2. Click Hardware and Sound.

  3. On the Hardware and Sound settings screen, go to Sound > Manage sound devices.

  4. In the displayed Sound settings window, click Recording.

  5. Right-click Microphone Array (or Microphone), and select Enable or Disable to enable or disable the microphone. Then, click OK.
