Problem
After the printer is connected to a PC, the printer appears offline, and the printer's IP address cannot be pinged.
Cause
1. AP isolation is enabled on the router.
2. The router is abnormal.
Solution
1. Enter the router's gateway address in the address box of a browser, log in to the router's web management page, and disable AP isolation. For details, please contact customer service of the router manufacturer.
To disable AP isolation, using a HUAWEI router as an example, perform the following steps: Open a browser, enter 192.168.3.1 in the address box, and log in to the web management page. Then, go to Settings > WLAN > WLAN Advanced Settings, disable AP isolation, and click Apply.
2. Perform the following steps to ping other devices on the LAN:
- Press Windows+R on the PC, enter CMD in the Run window, and press Enter.
- Enter ping x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x is the IP address of another device on the same router) in the Command prompt window, and press Enter.
To obtain the IP address, using a HUAWEI phone as an example, perform the following steps: Go to Settings > About phone, swipe down on the screen, and select Status.
- Check whether the network connection has timed out. If other devices cannot be pinged either, use another router and try again.
