Use Desktop Mode to Make Work More Convenient

In Desktop mode, your device and the large-screen device work independently and can show different content. The content of a device projected on the large-screen device is in a layout similar to that of the computer desktop.

Once your device screen is projected, touch the capsule at the top of the screen, touch any blank area in the live window, and touch Desktop mode in the displayed dialog box, to begin using the large-screen device.

For example, you can edit a document on the large-screen device while chatting on your device. You don't need to worry about missing out on notifications, calls, or messages, as a red dot will appear on the notification panel on the large-screen device to let you know.

Use Your Device as a Touchpad

After your device screen is projected to a large-screen device in Desktop mode, if no keyboard or mouse is available, your device can work as a touchpad to complete input operations of a mouse and keyboard.

Touch the capsule at the top of the device screen, touch any blank area in the live window, and touch Touchpad in the displayed dialog box. From there, feel free to:
  • Use gestures as instructed to simulate mouse commands.

  • When no external keyboard is connected, touch the text input box on the large-screen device to display the onscreen keyboard to input text.

    If an external keyboard is connected, the onscreen keyboard will not be available. In this case, you need to use the external keyboard to input text.

Project the Device's Screen to the Large-Screen Device to Make Work Easier

In Desktop mode, you can use the following features:

  • Multi-window display: Open multiple windows at a time to multitask.

  • File management: Save files to the desktop, create files or folders, and rename or delete files.

  • Quick search: Search for documents, multimedia files, and apps using the start menu search box.

  • Quick app projection: Touch and hold down on an app icon on your device, and touch the projection menu to project the app to the large-screen device and open it.

Exit Desktop mode

You can exit Desktop mode in any of the following ways:

  • In Touchpad mode, touch the Exit icon at the top of the screen to exit Desktop mode.

  • Touch the capsule at the top of the screen, touch in the live window to exit Desktop mode, and touch to exit wireless projection.
