Setting screen on/off for your HUAWEI watch/band

Turning on the screen

  • Press to wake: Just press the Up button on your watch or press the side button on your band to wake the screen.
  • Raise to wake: Raise your wrist to wake the screen.
You can enable or disable Raise to wake by performing either of the following:
    • In the app list of your watch/band, go to Settings > Display & brightness and toggle on or off Raise to wake.

If Raise to wake is not available on your device, it cannot be set on the device. In this case, open Huawei Health to set it.

    • Open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, tap Device settings or General settings (depending on your device), and toggle on or off Raise to wake.
  • Tap to wake: Tap the screen to wake it.
This feature is disabled by default. To use this feature, go to Settings > Display & brightness and toggle on Tap to wake.

In the app list on your watch, go to Settings > Display & brightness > Always On Display. If Watch face is enabled, you can tap the screen to wake it up, and Tap to wake will be disabled. If Watch face is disabled, you can enable Tap to wake (only available on certain devices).

Turning off the screen

  • Manually turn off the screen: Lower your arm, rotate your wrist outwards, or use your palm to cover the screen.

For certain devices, the screen turns off only when you use your palm to cover the screen.

  • Automatically turn off the screen: The watch will automatically sleep after it's left idle for a certain period of time.

Set the sleep time: Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep on your watch/band and set the sleep time (such as to Auto or 10 sec) as needed.

When Sleep is set to Auto: After you raise your wrist to turn on the screen, the screen will automatically turn off if left idle for five seconds when the watch face is displayed, or for 15 seconds when any other screen is displayed.
