How do I use wireless reverse charging? What should I pay attention to?

Wireless reverse charging is a feature that allows you to use your phone to charge other devices (such as a smartphone, smart watch, and smart band) that support wireless charging. To use wireless reverse charging, pay attention to the following tips.

The device to be charged must support wireless charging

Huawei devices supporting wireless charging include: HUAWEI P40 Pro, P40 Pro+, Mate 30 RS, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30, P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS, and Mate RS; HONOR 30 Pro+, HONOR V30 Pro; HUAWEI MatePad Pro, FreeBuds 2; HONOR FlyPods Pro; HUAWEI FreeBuds 3 series (wireless charging edition), FreeBuds Pro (wireless charging edition), and so on.

Non-Huawei devices must support the QI wireless charging protocol (such as iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, Samsung S9, and Xiaomi Mix 2S) to support wireless charging. For details, contact the device vendor.

Wireless charging steps

  1. Go to Settings > Battery and enable the Wireless reverse charging switch.
     
    • Make sure Wireless reverse charging is not enabled on the device that you want to charge. Otherwise, the device that you want to charge may start charging your phone instead.
    • Do not place your phone on a metal object when Wireless reverse charging is enabled.
  2. Ensure that the device being charged is powered on.
  3. Place the device to be charged on the centre of the back of your phone. Do not place any metal objects, such as cards or coins, between the two devices.

Tips

  1. Wireless reverse charging is less powerful than wired charging, and it may take longer to charge large-capacity devices. It is more suitable for charging in emergency situations.
  2. When your phone's battery level is lower than 20% and you are not charging it, it will no longer charge the other device and Wireless reverse charging will be automatically disabled.
