My HUAWEI laptop is sometimes unable to identify the microphone on a four-segment headset |
Problem
When the user stops music playback, unplugs their sour-segment headset, leaves the laptop idle for some time, and then plugs in their headset once again, the laptop is sometimes unable to identify the headset. In addition, the headset's recording feature does not work.
Cause
Headset microphones are detected by EC. The accuracy of EC detection depends on whether the codec device detection pin has been powered on. When the device has been idle and is woken up, there is a delay while the codec device wakes up and the detection pin is powered on. If EC detection takes places before the pin has been powered on time, the laptop will not be able to correctly identify the headset microphone.
Solution
1. If this detection issue occurs, unplug your headset, and plug it in again after 5 seconds. Your headset microphone will then be detected normally.
2. This issue has been resolved by changing the time delay after headset insertion to 500 ms. Please stay tuned for driver updates from PC Manager.
