1. Basic check and suggestions
- Remove the protective film.
Cause: If a tempered glass screen protector or a third-party protective film is attached to the phone, the screen colour may look different.
Suggestion: Remove the tempered glass screen protector or third-party protective film.
- Set the default home screen app to Huawei Home. (Skip this step if your phone is running HarmonyOS 5 or later, as this feature is not supported on these versions.)
Operation: Go to Settings > Apps & services > Default apps > Home app > Huawei Home.
- Use a pre-installed theme.
Operation: Go to Settings > Home screen & style, select an official theme, and view its details.
If the screen colour issue persists, perform the following steps:
2. Troubleshoot based on the specific scenario
Scenario 1: The screen shows only black and white colours
- Disable Simulate colour space.
- Open Settings, search for Simulate colour space, and select Off.
- If Simulate colour space is not displayed, this feature is not enabled or supported on your device. In this case, skip this step.

- Disable eBook mode.
- Open Settings, search for eBook mode, and disable it.
- If eBook mode is not displayed, this feature is not supported on your device. In this case, skip this step.
Scenario 2: The app background is black
- Disable Dark mode (the system app background is black).
Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Dark mode and disable Dark mode.
Scenario 3: The screen colour changes from cold white to warm colours
- Disable Eye Comfort.
Search for and access Eye Comfort in Settings, and then disable the feature.
- Set the colour mode and colour temperature to the normal value.
- Open Settings, and search for and access Colour mode & temperature (or Colour temperature).
- Set Colour mode to Normal.
- Set Colour temperature to Normal (or Default).
Scenario 4: Home screen icons all turn black
To disable colour inversion, go to Settings, search for Colour inversion, and disable it.

Scenario 5: The screen has a purple, blue, or red cast
Disable colour correction: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Colour correction (or Settings > Accessibility > Colour correction) and disable the corresponding switch.
3. Restore all settings
If the issue persists, restore all settings and try again.
Notes:
- This operation will not delete your personal data or third-party in-app settings, but will reset settings such as network, fingerprint, facial recognition, lock screen password, Bluetooth, home screen wallpaper, and app permissions.
- If Reset all settings is not displayed, this feature is not supported on your device. In this case, skip this step.
Operation: Go to and follow the onscreen instructions.
4. If the issue persists
If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, call the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance, or back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
