Problem
Problem 1: The band/watch displays "Device overheating. Powering off..."
Problem 2: The watch displays "Device overheating. App closed. Wait for it to cool off." (This alert does not display on bands.)

Cause
The wearable will overheat and trigger overheat protection alerts accordingly when: the ambient temperature exceeds the watch's applicable temperature range (such as, long-time sun exposure, hot weather, and leaving the device in the car for a long time) and the screen stays on continuously during updates, downloads, or outdoor activities with direct sunlight.
Solution
- Bands/Watches should be stored at an ambient temperature ranging from –20°C to +45°C. They show optimal performance when the ambient temperature is between 0°C and 35°C. Do not keep the device beyond the applicable range for a long time. Otherwise, their battery life may be shortened or other damage may occur.
- Do not leave the band/watch in a high-temperature environment (for example, in direct sunlight or a hot car).
- When the alert is displayed, place the band/watch in a cool and well-ventilated place for a while until the temperature returns to normal.
If the issue persists
If the issue persists and the band/watch frequently displays alerts, affecting your normal use, the hardware may be faulty. Since this involves professional handling and equipment testing, please take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
